Raptors trade: Joe Johnson: 19.8M, 21.5M, 23.2M, 24.9M Pau Gasol: 19M, 19.3M Mario Chalmers: 4M, 4M pick 19 in the rookie draft Raptors will cover 10 million of Joe Johnson's salary for the next 4 years Raptors will cover 8 million of Pau Gasol's salary for the next 2 years
Nuggets trade: Blake Griffin: 7.2M, 9.4M 8.25 in the commencement draft 1st rounder in the 2013 rookie draft pick 2.25 in the 2012 rookie draft 2nd rounder in the 2013 rookie draft
I agree because no other trade offered me an elite player in a trade. Also, this was the only deal that allowed me to get rid of Joe Johnson. I wasn't in love with the trade but it was by far the best offer I received as other teams refused to include players picked higher than the 4th round in the commencement draft. This trade for me came down to shedding two players in decline, 18 million in cap, and getting a superstar.

Sorry guys but I have to veto..if that #19 overall wasn't in the deal it would have been more fair but this deal is too lopsided for me to approve..pending nuggets acceptance

I gotta agree with the two above. I know he's trying to get rid of them, but it simply isn't even. But perhaps the biggest problem I see is that he's also giving back 18m for 2-4 years. That will screw a team over (Raptors). Too much cap being given. I don't see how this can be approved if the Raptors hit that deep a hole.

Veto (0-4). This trade is awful in so many ways. First he should not have to include his rookie pick or mario chalmers and you are still covering 56 million total in salary over four years and u only get griffin back, u can get more than that veto.

Accept. I was reluctant to give up Blake Griffin, but I think this trade definitely makes me better.
I don't think this trade should get vetoed because Raptors said that he got multiple trade offers and that mine was the best. Just because this is a big trade where I get a lot in return does not mean this is not better than what the Raptors would have gotten in two separate trades for JJ and Pau

I understand why the trade got vetoed. But what you guys don't understand is that NO ONE WANTS THESE PLAYERS. I was put into an awful position and I have to get out of it. I fielded over 7 offers and this was the best by far. 7 offers is almost half of the active GMs in the league. I know I'm not going to get a fair deal, so if I can get a 1st rounder and a superstar out of it I'm happy. Also keep in mind that every GM who vetoed this deal did not offer for any of these players and they also have not offered me a trade since, meaning they would not be interested in making a trade similar to this one.

Keep in mind not everyone is actively trading because we do have a draft still going on
