If we raise the cap, it will be by 5M, bringing the cap to $70M

You also need to see into how it affects the draft, a lot of people went cheap and drafted younger players when we had the chance to grab, amare/Kobe because the cap was lower. Wouldn't be fair because there will be owners that benefit from raising the cap but it would be unfair. Just a concern

The 5 million raise would benefit everyone in one form or another. GMs up against it will get a little breathing room. While the cheaper spending, more savy owners will have 5 million extra to either take advantage of falling players with expensive contracts that are still available. Or to splurge on undrafted FAs, and released players that the GMs up against it will have no shot at.
Let's be real...how much earlier would Kobe have been drafted had his contract been (12:$22.85M, 13:$25.45M), instead of (12:$27.85M, 13:$30.45M)? The 5 million raise doesn't have quite the impact some are making it out to.

It's still an impact though. Some people new the cap, were smart about it and drafted that way. If you weren't than that should be your fault. I feel like if we change the cap now we would have to do the whole draft over again, because for me my strategy would have changed completely.

And this is why I put it up to a poll, majority rules.

yea, i don't think we should change it. It is pretty ridicolous changing it now because we had this discussion before the commencement draft and Zach said there is no way that the cap was changing and that it was going to stay at 65 million. It is to late to change it. Also if kobe's contract was 5 million cheaper I prob. would have taken him.

the majority rules theory is fine, but if thats the case this poll should have only two options.
A) Change the cap at the 7th round B) wait until after the draft to make a decision.
the main problem most of us have with changing the cap is the fact that you want to do in MID DRAFT. right now the vote is split 9-4-4-4, which puts it in favor of changing at the start of the 7th round. if you were to have 2 options like i stated the vote would be 12-9 in favor of making a decision after the draft.

Pope's right, all those people would rather not have it during the draft, so technically there the majority.
