Ok, so we have had some discussion about this, and have decided to raise the salary cap by 5M from 65M to 70M, this will have effect after the end of the 6th round.
Please make all adjustments necessary.

I think its too late in the draft to change the salary cap.

i based my actions of these first 5-6 rounds and the rest of the rounds on the hard cap of 65 mil....... just seems like a bailout to teams not managing thier money right.....plus amare and JJ would not have fell so late if i knew i had an extra 5M to throw at them.....just venting, dont want any trouble and now i am over it......on with the draft

ummm... "discussions"? since when is a discussion a valid reason to change rules as you please? for one, this is something that should be changed between seasons (not the middle of the draft), and if this was such a big issue why wasnt this put to a vote? a little simple democracy goes a long way to thwart conflict.
to those of you who may cry that the 65 mill cap number was way too low: -the rules are the rules, you knew coming into the draft what the cap was, everyone should draft accordingly. no one was forced to draft joe johnson, elton brand, ect....
to those of you who may cry about being stuck with (enter player name here) and his bad contract via auto-pick: - well then, you should have been more involved in the league and not let the auto-pick happen
"but what happens when "team X" runs out of cap space during the draft before his roster is full?": - tough shit, either release a player to clear cap space or forfeit the pick(s) and go into the season with a short handed team. its no one else's fault but your own for running out of cap space.
one more thought... any player who is undrafted should be going to free agency anyway. in other words any undrafted players current contract should be voided and he should be open for bidding on the open market. so whats wrong with letting a guy like rashard lewis go undrafted? at 20 mill his contract should be "undraftable" anyway, but post-draft he wouldnt be a bad pick up for a couple mill to the winner of a "free agent bidding contest"
there were comments made about rewarding the "active" owners, if you ask me, raising the cap is just giving the lazy, inactive, and non-fiscally smart owners a bailout. that flies in direct contrast to "rewarding" active owners.

I wanted higher cap before draft started and would still like to see it higher but fully agree with those that it really isn't right to do it now. won't complain either way

It would be more beneficial to me if it was raised but I have to agree that if we wanna raise it that's gotta happen next year

I like the idea of the $5 million cap raise. Although I expect any comment I have on raising the cap to be met with comments reguarding me drafting Kobe, or possibly not getting him had the cap been @70 million from the start.

OK guys, I see your reasoning. And I see how it is not fair to change it in the middle of the draft. I can put up a poll on what people think the cap should be and when it should be put in action?

Well, the poll obviously won't go through

At least put up a poll, I would have drafted Amare Stoudimire a while back if I knew that we would be at 70M. I think we should just keep it at 65M. Keeps things more interesting and if you do a bad contract then its your fault and you can't avoid it.

ide say put up a poll, with options like "leave as is"/"change to 70 now"/change to 70 at the end of year 1"....... with the activity i think we should leave the poll up for 2-3 weeks so everyones tally counts
