I just want to remind everyone about this. We are having a commencement draft. Do not put the current NBA players on you team roster. The players will be drafted out to all the teams.
WE ARE NOT HAVING THIS DRAFT EVERY YEAR. This a one time thing to start the league, then we will be keeping every player year to year. Just with contracts so of course if you don't resign a guy he goes to free agency.
30 team draft
12 rounds
360 picks to fill your roster
As soon as we get close to filling up then we can work on getting rankings and stuff together.

what are we doing for contracts? Are we doing their actual salary or are we doing a salary based on when they get picked? And are we allowed to trade these picks?

Hi there. If you go to the rules,I think we're using actual NBA contracts for the draft and then free agency contracts and extensions are based on our negotiations and bids.Ask Alex to be sure. There seems to be still a few things to clarify.Take care.Thanks. Mark

Hey, this may sound a bit dumb, but this is going to be a snake draft right? like 1-30 in round one and then 30-1 the next round?

Alex would know. But yes, probably. That is the only way to make it fair.

I just wanted to voice something. I think with a league of this volume, it would be extremely, extremely difficult to do a draft to start all the teams. Of course, I love the idea. I just wanted to get the owners' opinions on whether or not this will be plausible.
Can we truly get everyone on with enough frequency to fill the lineup with a commencement draft?
Thanks.

I agree with Ethan that it would be tough to get everyone on. We should place limits on the time everybody has to draft and start it at a time where everybody is free. Hopefully this will work out because this idea of a commencement draft is exciting!

We have until the start of the next NBA season to figure this out, so we have a good while to get this done. No reason why it wouldn't work a it's not going ot be a live draft. And if it does slow down, and or teams don't show up for their picks, they will effectively go on auto pick where they would get the best player available according to the ESPN player rater.

we should be able to trade picks.. for example in the first round pick if someone wants to trade their first overall pick to get multiple high picks if they think quantity > quality etc. etc
