Yeah extensions would be great for the individual team that has them, but would be awful for the league because would cause stagnation, also would have changed the whole dynamic of the draft. I do not have a problem with the way franchise tags work and do not like the idea of extensions.

my 2 cents in anyone cares....is maybe we are allowed to sign 1 player a year for 1-3 years and with 12 players on most rosters only being able to sign 1 a year at 3 years max there will still be a hefty pool in FA.....i know the rules are set now, but maybe a vote next year? and yes i would vote you use a tag for a guy for 3 years......then use the same tag again in 3 years for same player.....but with the draft in progress it should be considered next offseason

Extensions are not needed. If you want to extend your player, go win the bidding on him.
